Whenua and whānau

Kōura at Taipōrutu, Te Māhia-mai-tawhiti

  • A research project - Storying Kaitiakitanga - funded by Our Land and Water created a series of case studies.

This case study highlights the mahi of Mere Whaanga and Richard Allen, residents of Te Māhia peninsula, who are working together to explore ways of using whānau land to revive an endangered species of fresh water kōura.
