Climate change can be managed by a combination of adaptation and mitigation. The choices around these two options have both social and economic consequences through to 2100.
The dataset - What is it?
Models predict outcomes based on Shared Socioeconomic Pathway (SSP). SSP is a ranking of climate impacts based on our call to action on climate change. The range is from SSP1 where sustainability is the focus to SSP5 where Fossil-Fuelled development is. There is a world and New Zealand overview data on crops, forestry, pasture, and hydrological values over the SSP ranges.
Why it's important
We are presented with pathways we can take, shared socioeconomic pathways that will decide the climate and many aspects of our lives. Policy is a key tool for mitigation as it calls everyone to action on climate change.
